SUPERFORK
Loretta Sharp was raised by her grandfather, a kindly but mad scientist who simply calls himself The Professor. Loretta assisted her grandfather in the lab in his house but, to The Professor's chagrin, she took less of an interest in science and more of an interest in journalism, which she believed to be a noble profession to serve the public. As The Professor's inventions had until that point been mechanical distractions, he was inspired by Loretta's beliefs to focus his energies on something that could benefit mankind - and win his granddaughter's respect. By the time Loretta had graduated journalism school and become a cub reporter at the Silver City Sentinel, The Professor had created an amazing invention - the Gravimatrix, a personal device that allowed its user to alter the gravity around him or her. When The Professor proudly showed it to Loretta, he was startled when she said she wanted to make use of the device herself. Loretta enjoyed her work at the Sentinel but didn't get to pursue the important stories she wanted because of her inexperience and because of colleagues who doubted her abilities because of her gender. She wanted to use the Gravimatrix to enable her to fly and lift heavy objects, to become a SuperFork that could help mankind and at the same time prove how strong women could be. The Professor was worried of the danger but saw her resolve and never really could deny anything to his granddaughter. The two of them designed a flame retardant suit, which Loretta would store with the collapsible Gravimatrix in her purse. She would be enabled to fly and "lift" heavy objects but would have no more durability than the average utensil. Few suspected that quiet and serious Loretta Sharp was moonlighting as the bright and bubbly SuperFork.

HISTORY (contains spoilers):Very early in SuperFork's career, she saved Detective Fork's car from teetering over a bridge during his pursuit of murderer Arthur Bronze. Fork, already in a testy mood due to recent turmoil in his life, was not too happy when SuperFork flew off to deliver the criminal to Police HQ. Soon after this, a flying criminal punched a hole in the Silver City Bank and stole thousands of dollars. As SuperFork was the only known person with those abilities, she was the main suspect and the bank manager hired Detective Fork to track her down, which the police condoned because Fork had met her. Fork used candles to light her initials on a rooftop and get her attention as she patrolled the city. Fork wanted her to come in for questioning but SuperFork convinced him of her heroic intentions and the two agreed to work to find the real culprit. Loretta wrote a front page story that included an "interview" with SuperFork in which she challenged the bank robber to a duel at the docks the next day. A crowd turned out to see the spectacle and Detective Fork told a nervous Loretta that he would back her up with the very large gun he brought with him. However, no one expected what showed up - Captain Smash, a devilish white robot that was ready to pound Loretta to a pulp. Loretta fought him but her fear of getting hit - The Gravimatrix did not make her any moe durable than a regular fork girl - began to show. As Fork's gun was useless, ge turned a firehose on Smash's propulsion system and sent the robot crashing down to the docks. Loretta pounced on her stunned opponent and ripped open his chest to find someone familiar piloting the robot - her Grandfather's rival, Professor Roundworm. Roundworm pulled a gun on her but quickly felt the blunt end of Fork's rifle. Fork gave Loretta a ride home and she announced she was giving up the hero game because she was just a girl with a toy. Fork reminded her how needed she was and Loretta said she would think about resuming the role. While Loretta already knew who Fork was before they met by his reputation, Fork slyly revealed he had discovered her secret identity.
Loretta next showed up wearing a darker costume and with a more serious demeanor, vowing to stop Detective Fork from breaking into Mayor Jones' office. Something about the whole situation wasn't quite right but exactly what has yet to be revealed.
