DETECTIVE FORK

Detective Fork Detective Fork is known throughout Silver City as a private investigator who takes down the big dogs in crime, a reputation he built after busting the city's largest mob boss during his days as a police detective. Fork still works closely with the police, even if it's unofficial. Detective Fork is rigid, gruff and tough but his inner thoughts veer towards the philosophical. He also has a soft side, though that mainly comes out around the ladies he likes. Fork has no qualms about breaking the rules and his anger towards great injustice, when unleashed, can lead him to do things that could land him in jail. However, he has a sense of duty and honor that keeps him from going crooked and drives him to uphold the more important laws, maybe not of the police department as much as the civilized world. Fork often tells his clients he'll "do his utmost" to solve their cases and he means it. Fork likes to ride in style on his assignments and does so in his car, The Fork Rod and on his motorcycle, lovingly named Satan. To family and friends, Fork is simply called "T," which is the first letter of his first name. The mystery of his first name, however, is something he will reveal to no one since he HATES his name. Fork only shoots his gun when needed and claims to never miss his target. So far, he hasn't been proven wrong.

HISTORY (contains spoilers):Detective Fork followed in the footsteps of his father, who was a famous detective for the Silver City P.D. Fork graduated from flatfoot to detective, eventually making a name for himself after taking down mob boss Silver Videl. It made his father proud, for Fork was following a long line of ancestors who excelled in law enforcement.

Fork's younger brother committed suicide in late 1937 and soon after, Detective Fork left the force and became a private detective. Fork, distraught and angry, publically blamed vacuum tube mogul Kraus Macaroni for his brother's death, claiming that Macaroni had let his brother take the fall for underhanded business decisions that he had nothing to do with, causing the loss of his job and reputation. It was the opening that Macaroni's wife was looking for. Disgusted with her marriage and lusting for sole control of the company's finances, Sylvia Macaroni hatched an elaborate murder in which she shot her husband dressed as Detective Fork and then framed him for it. It almost worked, until Fork broke out of prison, figured out Sylvia was responsible and helped the police apprehend her.

Free again, Detective Fork was called in personally by Silver City's mayor to find out who was sabotaging his election campaign by causing a crime wave in the form of a biker gang that was rampaging across the city. Mayor Jones suspected his opponent, Don Polish. Fork went undercover for weeks in the Chaindead Biker Gang and found he was fast becoming friends with them, especially their leader, Wolf. He also developed a flirtatious relationship with Sasha Bordeux, Wolf's girl. Fork finally spyed Wolf meeting with the gang's employer but it was not Don Polish as expected; rather, it was a representative of the recently formed Nazi party from Germany. Fork's cover was blown soon after by Johnny Spork, a street urchin Fork met during his investigation of the Macaroni case who was a new recruit to the gang. Fork learned from the gang that the Nazis wanted to get Don Polish in office to gain control of Silver City and the gang was only going along with it until they had the right moment to expose the conspiracy. Knowing this, Fork convinced Mayor Jones to let the Chaindead Gang near the stage during a big speech of his and the gang revealed condemning footage of Polish meeting with the Nazi. Police captured the conspirators, who were watching from nearby, but then turned their guns on the gang on the orders of the mayor, who had just got done proclaiming a no-tolerance policy against crime. The gang resisted arrest and the mayor ordered the officers to fire, gunning down the whole gang aside from Detective Fork and Johnny Spork. Fork, realizing the mayor had just used the gang to make a political statement, flipped out and tried to attack Mayor Jones. He was restrained by police and told the mayor to watch his back, as he had indeed been inducted into the gang.

Fork began looking for a secretary soon after this and ended up hiring Janice after the petite girl single-handedly knocked out a mugger that attacked them.

Still depressed and enraged from the biker gang incident, Fork became more aggressive against criminals and almost crashed his car off a bridge chasing down a man who gunned down innocent people during a robbery. He was saved by a costumed woman who could fly and lift his car. Fork was stunned upon meeting SuperFork, as she called herself, but a rivalry developed when she flew off with the captured criminal to deliver him to police. Fork, still on shaky ground with the police, was contacted by his friend Chief Slice because a bank manager wanted Fork to investigate a robbery in which a thief punched a hole in the wall of the Silver City Bank and flew off with thousands of dollars. As SuperFork was the chief suspect and Fork had met her, he was asked to take the case and complied. He tracked down the hero and questioned her about the robbery but she convinced him of her innocence and the two began working together to find the real culprit. An ad was placed in the Silvery City Sentinel inviting the real thief to a showdown at the city's docks. Both were surprised when Captain Smash, a flying robot monster piloted by its inventor Professor Roundworm, turned up and began its attack. SuperFork fought back but seemed to be having trouble so Detective Fork used a fire hose to knock out Captain Smash's propulsion system, sending it crashing to the ground. SuperFork ripped out the professor but in the process he shot the pack on her pack that gave her her abilities. Fork took her to have it repaired by her grandfather and convinced the doubting hero to keep up the good fight.
