The mouse in the last panel is actually a crossover from an older comic strip I did called Hey, Professor. In that comic, there were lab mice that belonged to the mad professor of the title and they appeared in every comic, usually doing some kind of antics in the background. I stopped doing that comic and switched to Detective Fork partly because most people didn't find Hey, Professor to be funny. It amused ME but it's jokes weren't of the knee-slapping variety and I have a weird sense of humor, anyway. ]:-)
